One of S.W.I.F.T.’s proudest missions is awarding annual scholarships to young women graduating from high school, helping those who might not otherwise have the financial means to pursue higher education.
The Joyce E. Burrell Ransome Scholarships empower deserving students to follow their academic dreams and access opportunities that can transform their futures, enabling them to thrive in college and beyond. We are committed to making higher education more accessible for the next generation of women leaders.

My name is A'mani Taylor. I am a resident of Cameys Point NJ. I am currently a Senior and will be graduating this June from Penns Grove High School. I have worked hard academically and athletically. I am the true definition of a scholar-athlete. I have participated and volunteered in many community service opportunities. I am someone who believes that I have a responsibility to contribute to our community and help create a better future for everyone.
I grew up in a home that prioritized education. I was taught that education was important and something I was to take seriously. In my household, my mom and sister both graduated from college. Watching them work hard and achieve their goals has motivated me. We worked hard in High School to prepare myself for my next journey of attending college. I would like to pursue a career in the Sports Management field. To achieve this I must continue my education. Furthering my education is also important because I want to make connections, grow as a young lady, and prepare myself for the future. I know that education is the key to my life and I will be blessed to have many doors open for me.

As my senior year is fast approaching, it made me realize who I want to be and what I want my name to represent. I have thought about graduating since the beginning of my high school years and now that it's ending I'm sad to go. Though one of my years was cut short by Covid and another year I completed at home through a computer, I still made the most of it. I am currently senior class vice president. I listen to concerned peers about what changes we can make to the school and I do my best to have meetings with the principal on what actions we can take. I am blessed to be graduating with a 3.7 gpa and attending Salem Community College for my first two years. I plan on attending Rutgers in the future to further my education in nursing. Nursing has always been my passion and it took me a little while to realize that. Nonetheless, I want to further my education to make my loved ones proud. Nothing would make me happier than making my mom happy. I've always dreamed of being successful and these next steps will be the path that will lead me to a bright future.
